11th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA Symposium |

It is less than two months to the Integrated Water Resources Management showcase to be held at the Elephant Hills Hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The theme for the symposium is “IWRM for National and Regional Integration: Where Science, Policy and Practice meet”. The Institute of Water and Sanitation Development is the host and organiser of this year’s Symposium. Great emphasis is placed on integration of knowledge, particularly involving scholars from the natural, earth and social sciences with the aim of advancing the IWRM agenda in Southern and East Africa. An exhibition of Water, Sanitation and Environmentally orientated organisations and companies will be held concurrently with the conference. Physics & Chemistry of the Earth |
|
Since 2002, WaterNet has produced a special issue of the Journal Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, based mainly on the proceedings of the annual WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA Symposium. By 2006, the journal produce 16.4 % of the articles in the Scopus database with "water resources" and "Africa" in the title, abstract or keywords.
The 2010 issue is currently under review, with around 60 articles received and assigned to the guest editors. We expect the issue to be available online by August 2010.
